What is Organic Maté Tea?

Mate is a traditional infused beverage from South America. It differs from tea in that it does not come from the same plant. Mate leaves are harvested from the yerba mate tree, a member of the holly family. However, mate leaves are rich in mateine, a molecule identical to theine. And like tea, this infusion has antioxidant virtues that are beneficial to health.
